"The Counties of Britain, A Tudor Atlas." by John Speed, London, 1616, reprinted in connection with the British Library by Thames and Hudson, New York, 1989, 288 pp. Complete color copy of Speed's Atlas of "The Kingdome of Great Britaine and Ireland", 69 double-paged plates. LR
"The Rand-McNally Green Guide." Chicago, 1974. Lists all cities, towns, villages and other localities in the United States with 100 or more population plus 3,140 counties and independent cities as well as approx 1,500 incorporated places that have less than 100 population in 1970. Crosses every listing to county. A little out of date now, but has been my mainstay for finding places for 15 years now and has never let me down. LR
